Conventional + CBC

Conventional + CBC

Conventional coatings with CBC (carbon based coatings) result in two coatings on the tool: A CrN coating as the adhesive layer for the required wear protection and the CBC coating – a carbon layer that improves the run-in behaviour of the tool. Coatings that contain CBC are ideal for two applications: lubricating materials (e.g. aluminium) and tools that require an extremely smooth surface with a very low coefficient of friction.

CrN+CBC aluminium alloy threads

  • Specially developed for thread cutting in aluminium alloys
  • Coating for special forming processes
  • Excellent for preventing built-up edges
